About Computavi

Computavi makes free tools to help you understand the numbers behind a choice. Explore borrowing, saving and investing with clear assumptions and worked examples.

What you can do here

Our finance catalogue includes loan payments and comparisons, savings growth and goals, purchasing power, investment fees and regular investing or withdrawals.

The extra-payment calculator compares an existing loan with up to three extra-payment options. Other tools answer different questions using the information and assumptions you enter.

You can download or print the selected monthly table. Each tool uses one currency throughout, without assuming a symbol or converting amounts.

How we check the calculations

We check made-up examples against separate reference calculations. Automated tests check rounding, final payments, fees, contributions, withdrawal shortfalls and unsupported inputs. Browser checks compare results with charts, tables and downloads.

Each tool explains its assumptions and includes a worked example under “How we calculate this” and “Worked example”. You can read those explanations without turning on JavaScript.

What an estimate can tell you

An estimate can help you explore a choice. It is not a lender quote, guaranteed investment return or recommendation about what you should do. Actual providers may use different interest, fee or payment rules.

Only fees explicitly shown in a tool are modelled. Taxes, insurance, early-payment penalties and fund-specific rules are excluded. Investment projections use steady assumptions and cannot capture changing returns or their order.

Your numbers stay in the calculator

Calculations run in your browser. The tools do not send or save the numbers you enter. Downloading or printing creates a copy outside the page. Read how your information is handled.
